Our dorms have a maximum capacity of 6 people, whilst our private configurations rival hotels in regards to their fit-out – we’re definitely more than just a bed in a room! You’ll find we’re the best-located accommodation provider in town, and with 4 stories of character over-looking Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables, you can enjoy your morning coffee in style.

Hostel Amenities

Other than the great facilities, ensuites (with certain rooms), linen and towels, Absoloot Hostel QT provides their guests with a number of other amenities. If you have any questions, let us know.
  • WiFi - Free unlimited WiFi is available throughout the hostel.
  • Smoking - Rooms are smoke-free, we have a smoking area out the front.
  • Kitchen - Fully equipped communal kitchen for guests with free spices, tea, coffee, hot chocolate.
  • Laundry - Self service laundromat.
  • Lounge - 24 hour guest lounge, reception lounge and computer kiosks available (surcharge).
  • Storage - We have locker and baggage storage, ski/board storage in the Winter and bike storage in the Summer.
  • Bathrooms - 24hr dorm bathrooms with free hair/body wash.
  • Library - Library.

FAQs

  • Is there WIFI?
    Yes! It is free and unlimited.
  • Is there parking?
    Due to our premier location we unfortunately do not have parking on-site, however there is 24hr free on-street parking in the surrounding streets near the hostel which we can show you on arrival. We also have a paid parking facility close by which we can direct you to on arrival.
  • How close to the town centre are you?
    We are closer to the water than any other accommodation provider in Queenstown (let alone hostel). We are located at 50 Beach Street, which is the street that runs parallel to Shotover Street (the main street in town).
  • Where can I get food?
    We are surrounded by great cafes and shops!
  • Can I book an activity at the hostel?
    Of course you can. Almost everything you can do in Queenstown, we can organise for you. If you want to have things pre-organised before you arrive, all we need is for you to contact us with your preferred activity, preferred dates and some payment details. If you’re keen on doing something (but not entirely sure what you want to do) we can advise you in the right direction once you’re here and have a better idea of your surroundings and what’s available. Note if you are a member of The Backpacker Group you will need to book direct with any of our TBG activities.
  • What are your reception hours?
    Our reception is open from 9am until 9pm.
  • Can I check in after 9pm?
    Yes you can, you just need to inform us, preferably before the day of your arrival, also preferably by phone on +64 3 442 9522.
  • Do you have storage for my ski board or skis?
    Yes we do, we have a custom ski/board storage area in our fully equipped laundry on the premises. It is accessed by your keycard, and is under 24hr surveillance – it’s also locked down during the time our laundry is locked (9pm – 8am), so if you need to get your gear out before 8am it’s best to let us know the night before. If you feel you need extra security, you can purchase a lock and chain from us for $6.00 NZD.
