Saltwater Lodge is Paihia’s only purpose built 5 Star Qalmark backpackers located in the hub of vibrant Kings Road Paihia just a few steps to great cafe’s, bars and 50 meters to the best swimming beach
Our 6 and 4 bed dorms are the most spacious available, they all have private ensuite bathrooms and all open out onto a wide sun-drenched deck. Each bed has its own reading light, and there is in-room lockable storage for each guest.
We can also offer you a deluxe female dorm as well. There is something for everyone at Saltwater Lodge
Our private rooms, located on the top floor, feature Californian King beds or twin if you prefer flat-screen tvs, ensuite bathrooms, tea & coffee making facilities, under bench fridge and they too open onto a wide sun-drenched deck. All our rooms have opening windows, safe to leave open all night, for ventilation & comfort.
You will just love our BBQ area & well equipped kitchen with complementary pots of fresh herbs and salad greens, large communal common room, complimentary use of cruiser bikes, unlimited wifi, access to tennis courts and so much more

There is a key lock box located outside reception. Please advise at the time of booking and we will provide you a code
Reception hours are seasonally adjusted 8 am - 8 pm in the summer 8 am to 6 pm winter. Yes you can check in later we will provide you a code for our key lock box.
Check out is 10 am a later check out maybe possible please check with the manager. In some cases a fee may apply.
Yes we have both deluxe and standard female dorms.
We accept Cash, Eftpos, Visa & Mastercard. Credit cards must be present for payment (2.5% fee on credit card transactions). We also request a $20 cash key deposit.
The center of the Paihia village is a leisurely 10 minute walk along the beach or just a couple of minutes using one of our free cruiser bikes.
In just a few paces you can be at cafe's and bars (less than a minute) also a convenience store
