Surfboards and wetsuits are rented to guests at only $20 per 4 hour session and quality well-maintained safe bicycles are available for rent. But, what is the best thing about Mount Backpackers? Easy… you will arrive a guest and leave a friend! Our staff are the friendliest and most helpful people in the gorgeous town of Mount Maunganui, maybe even New Zealand.

    Contact us directly via phone or email and we can arrange for after hours check in.
  • What time is check out? Can I have a late checkout?
    Check out is 10 am. We do not allow late check out during months October-April. Please let us know if you require late check out otherwise.
  • What payment methods are accepted?
    We accept VISA, Mastercard and cash. Payment on arrival is preferred. We do require credit details if booking over the phone.
  • How long does it take to get into town?
    We are located in the town centre.
  • Do you have free WiFi?
    Yes, Free Unlimited.
  • Are there any shops or places to eat nearby?
    Yes many restaurant and all the necessary shops within a short walk.
