Attic Backpackers is a Multi award winning, clean and modern backpackers haven, located in the heart of Auckland City. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional service and travel advice to our guests as well as maintaining a spotlessly clean and welcoming environment! Our top floor hostel features a wonderful, large outdoor covered deck with chill out spots, dining area, and an attached, well-equipped communal kitchen. We offer large and small dorms as well as female only dorms, private single and twin rooms. All linen is provided free.

  • What time is check-in?
    Check-in is from 1pm but guests are more than welcome to leave there luggage and use the facilities if they arrive prior to this time.
  • What time is check-out?
    Check out is at 10am.
  • What are the reception hours?
    Reception is open from 8am - 11pm. Please contact us if you plan on arriving outside of these hours.
  • Do you have WiFi?
    We have free, unlimited WiFi throughout the entire hostel and computers that guests can use 24/7.
  • How do I get to Attic Backpackers from the airport?
    The easiest way to reach us is by taking the Skybus. This costs $19 one way and drops off a short walk from our hostel.
  • Is alcohol permitted in the hostel?
    Guests are more than welcome to drink alcohol in all of our common areas, we do ask that the rooms are kept alcohol free.
  • Are you close to public transport?
    The intercity bus stop is just 5 minutes walk away and Britomart is just a 15 minute walk away. There are multiple other bus stops within walking distance too.

Urgent Coronavirus Update

Anyone that has arrived into New Zealand from Monday 16th March 1am is required to self-isolate for 14 days.  If you do not do this you will be deported out of New Zealand if you are caught. If you need advice you can call the health line  0800 358 5453 or +64 9 358 5453  Do not enter a hostel, a hospital or a doctors clinic instead call the health line if you think you have the coronavirus.  If you need somewhere to self-isolate we might be able to help you so send an email to [email protected]  Many hostels are now checking your passports to see when you have entered the country and will report you to the police if you are not following the New Zealand requirements.
