Kia Ora welcome to Adventure Inn Marahau, Marahau’s only 100% dedicated backpacker accommodation. We are a new family run Backpackers with emphasis on rest and relaxation.

Situated in the centre or Marahau, right beside Kayak and Aqua Taxi, we are in the perfect location. 400m from the beach front, shop and Restaurant, and 700m from the entrance to the National Park and Park Cafe, nothing over five min walk away.

Our venue is large and spacious. With big communal areas, so you are not bound to hanging out in your rooms, having a large TV lounge with thousands of movies to choose from, big outdoor areas, grass and courtyard, picnic tables and bean bags, bbqs and pool tables, indoor and outdoor fireplaces.

  • How far away from the Park are we?
    700m or a 5 min walk.
  • Can we help book kayaks and Aqua Taxi?
    Yes we can help with all bookings locally. If you have joined The Backpacker Group all activities part of TBG need to be booked direct.
  • Do you run a free shuttle?
    Yes from Kaiteriteri.
  • What's the best part of the park to see?
    All of it! But if you are on a tight schedule we recommend a half day walk and kayak from Marahau to Anchorag.
  • Do we sell food?
    Yes, in the busy part of summer we sell Takeaways from our onsite diner for breakfast, coffee and dinners.

Urgent Coronavirus Update

Anyone that has arrived into New Zealand from Monday 16th March 1am is required to self-isolate for 14 days.  If you do not do this you will be deported out of New Zealand if you are caught. If you need advice you can call the health line  0800 358 5453 or +64 9 358 5453  Do not enter a hostel, a hospital or a doctors clinic instead call the health line if you think you have the coronavirus.  If you need somewhere to self-isolate we might be able to help you so send an email to [email protected]co.nz.  Many hostels are now checking your passports to see when you have entered the country and will report you to the police if you are not following the New Zealand requirements.
