Terms & Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to all The Backpacker Group (TBG) Memberships:

GENERAL

• To become a TBG member you must complete the “join now” form online and agree to TBG terms and conditions and pay the appropriate membership fee.
• TBG membership covers only the person (single)/people (couple) listed on the membership card.
• You must be 18 years old or older to become a TBG member (for those under 18 please refer to terms under “children”)
• Memberships are non-transferable.
• A valid passport, NZ driver’s license or NZ 18+ Card will be required at check in and must match the membership name.
• Each hostel and activity provider has its own terms and conditions, please refer direct to their website for a list of these.
• Your membership will commence on the day we receive your application and it will continue until the relevant end period.
• A valid membership card must be presented at check in or date of use of activity. If an expired card is presented you will need to pay full price.

CHILDREN (17 years old and under)

• Each hostel and activity provider has its own policies regarding children; you will need to contact the provider directly.

ACCOMMODATION  PROVIDERS

• Bookings must be made via the TBG website or direct with each activity provider as per the instructions set out on the website. Bookings made outside of this process or made via a third party will not be eligible for the discount.
• TBG are not liable for the services delivered by each operator so you should direct any inquiries or complaints direct to the supplier.

ACTIVITY  PROVIDERS

• Bookings must be made direct with each activity provider as per the instructions set out on the website. Bookings made outside of this process or made via a third party will not be eligible for the discount.

CANCELLATIONS

• Memberships are non-refundable.
• TBG may refuse membership to any person. TBG is not required to state the reason for such refusal.
• TBG membership may be revoked if terms and conditions of TBG are not adhered to.
• For terms and conditions for each individual product and service please see the providers direct listing.
• You may resign your membership at any time by emailing TBG. No refund will be provided.
