Our separate communal building includes a fully equipped kitchen, indoor/outdoor dining, T.V. lounge, games area with a pool table, darts, table tennis, and gym.

Available each morning is a free breakfast which consists of freshly made cheese scones, toast and tea & coffee. We provide free unlimited high speed WiFi, complimentary bikes, free off-street parking and a free shuttle bus to ferries, trains and buses.

With good local knowledge we also provide trip advice and can book your adventures – in some cases with discounted rates. Tombstone is just a 3 minute walk from the Bluebridge Ferry Terminal and 8 minutes walk into town.

FAQs

What time does check-in start?

1pm, but you are welcome to do a bag drop and either wait until 1pm or return later to check in.
What time is check-out?

Room keys need to be returned by 10am but you are welcome to stay around for awhile after this.
How far is it and how long does it take to walk from the Interislander Ferry Terminal to Tombstone?

The distance is 700m and walk time is approximately 15 minutes.
How far is it and how long does it take to walk from the Bluebridge Ferry Terminal?

The distance is 250m and walk time is approximately 4 minutes – note, we are booking agents for the Bluebridge ferry and can book discounted fares for you. This ferry company has a Wellington terminal that is very central to the city so very handy to accommodation, public transport and shops.
Is there a free shuttle?

We run a free shuttle for arrivals and departures providing we have a driver available – this must be pre arranged – drop offs to bus, train and ferries are at specific times so please contact us to arrange.
Can I park my car at Tombstone?

Yes, we have off street parking in 2 carparks, we will show you where to park when you check in.
Are there female only dorms at Tombstone?

Not specifically but if you request one we can see what we can do to provide for your needs.
Can I bring my pet?

Yes but your pet must sleep in your vehicle and/or be tethered where advised by management.
Are there cats at the hostel?

Yes there are 2 cats, 1 dog and 1 goat.
Are there laundry facilities?

Yes we have a coin operated washing machine and dryer as well as a clothes line.
What does the free breakfast consist of?

Freshly baked cheese scones, toast with spreads, tea and coffee.
Can I arrive to check in after hours?

Yes no problem – our reception is staffed until 10.15pm so let us know that you expect to arrive later than this and we will leave you out a map and room key. We will also email you some instructions.
How can I pay for my room?

We accept cash, eftpos, we chat pay, ali pay and credit cards – we may apply a surcharge of 2.9% on credit card payments.
Is there a telephone for guest use?

Yes we can provide a telephone for calls to NZ landlines and mobiles free of charge.
Do you have a luggage storage area?

Yes we can look after your bags and valuables if you wish.
Can you provide help with planning local excursions?

Yes we know the local offerings well and can help you to put a plan together sometimes with good discounts. We have in-depth knowledge of the Queen Charlotte Track which is good peace-of-mind.
